# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Postpartum – Texas
Start Date: October 14, 2026
Location: Austin, Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 13-week contract, night shift 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 3 weekends per schedule period
Highlights:- Dedicated postpartum unit with 40 beds focused exclusively on maternal care
- Manageable patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 patients
- Exposure to antepartum patients; separate nursery unit for neonatal care
- Electronic medical records: CPN and Meditech systems
- Experienced, tenured night shift team with nurses averaging 20+ years of service
- 13-week contract assignment with potential for permanent placement
Requirements:- Active RN license in Texas or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience required
- Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred
- Ability to independently manage patient assignments with 5-6 patients
- Familiarity with postpartum assessments, admissions, discharges, and patient education
- Experience with maternal pain management and coordination of postpartum care
