    This is a Travel position. You must live more than 30 miles from the facility to be considered for this position.

    Description:

    RN Supervisor – Part Time Nights | Long Term Care | New YorkShift Details
    • Part Time Nights: 2–3 shifts per week, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
    • Every other weekend availability required
    • Holiday availability required
    • 3 x 8.0-hour shifts
    • Contracts must run through January; ideal end dates are February or March
    Education
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing (required)
    • BSN (preferred)
    Licensure
    • Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) licensure (required)
    Certifications
    • BLS required — must be obtained through AHA or RQI system during clinical orientation
    • CPI certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
    Experience Requirements
    • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in long term care
    • Supervisory experience across multiple units required
    Job Functions
    • Under the direction of the Director of Nursing – LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units
    • Assures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts
    • Communicates with the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems and collaborates with the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Managers to resolve problems
    • Contacts the Director of Nursing during off hours for only those critical issues requiring resolution, and leaves appropriate communication at work for all other items
    • Makes sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator – LTC (off-shift/weekends) within identified scope of responsibility
    Other Requirements
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, ancillary services, and customers in a professional and courteous manner
    • Demonstrated ability to manage self professionally in stressful situations
    • Ability to facilitate clinical management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling
    • Familiarity with NYSDOH requirements
    • Demonstrated excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills
    • Computer literacy
    Exposure Control Classification
    • Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated
    • Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissue
    Customer Focus
    • Models, exemplifies, and leads in accordance with Healing Environment principles
    • Specifically: being professional, communicating effectively, and attending to the care environment

    Required Skills
