NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Level III
We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a Level III NICU. This position requires a nurse who is comfortable managing super high-acuity and critically ill neonates, including infants requiring advanced respiratory support and therapeutic cooling.
Experience Requirements
- Strong experience caring for high-acuity and critically ill neonates
- Therapeutic cooling experience required
- Must be comfortable independently managing complex NICU patients
- Previous travel experience preferred for traveler positions
Clinical Skills & Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
- Care for infants requiring therapeutic hypothermia/cooling
- Manage high-acuity patients requiring advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support
- Experience with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen
- Monitor and manage central lines, PICC lines, umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), and other invasive devices
- Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products as ordered
- Recognize and respond quickly to neonatal deterioration and emergency situations
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
- Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and closely monitor changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team
- Provide education and emotional support to parents and families throughout the infant's hospitalization
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Required Certifications
- Active RN license
- BLS
- NRP
- Additional certifications may be required based on facility policy
*The ideal candidate will have 3–4+ years of strong Level III NICU experience and be confident caring for extremely high-acuity neonates. Candidates must have hands-on therapeutic cooling experience and be able to function effectively in a fast-paced NICU environment with minimal supervision.
