Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse position in a healthcare facility. The role involves providing specialized neonatal care to patients across various gestational ages in a Level 3b NICU. The position requires working 12-hour night shifts, with responsibilities including attending deliveries, managing ventilators and monitors, and caring for premature infants and critically ill neonates.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with every other week working and floating to labor and delivery or postpartum units as needed.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); 2 or more years of NICU experience with Level 3 NICU proficiency; work authorization to submit license; valid certification documentation.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Vya, bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, oscillator ventilators; ability to attend deliveries; knowledge of sepsis management, cooling protocols, and substance withdrawal; bilingual Spanish speaking skills preferred; travel experience helpful.
- Additional Information: Unit has 16 beds with planned expansion to 20 beds within a year. Nurses must have NICU experience, ability to attend deliveries, and work in a fast-paced neonatal environment. Care includes managing patients with prematurity, sepsis, and cooling therapies. The hospital maintains a flexible cancellation policy, allowing cancellation of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
