Travel NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Level IV NICU | 12-Hour Nights | Little Rock, Arkansas

NICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of recent clinical experience in a Level III or Level IV NICU; Level I or II NICU experience alone will not be considered
  • At least one prior travel nursing assignment
  • Active Arkansas or Compact Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications
  • Required EPIC experience
  • Strong experience caring for premature, low-birth-weight, and critically ill neonates
  • Ability to successfully complete specialty testing, facility orientation, and a fit test
  • Must meet the facility’s nicotine screening requirements
  • Willingness to float within the designated ICU cluster and work required weekends and holidays

Travel NICU RN Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for neonates ranging from extremely premature infants to medically complex newborns
  • Care for patients with complications of prematurity, chronic lung disease, intracranial bleeds, NEC, congenital anomalies, surgical conditions, and other critical diagnoses
  • Monitor patients receiving advanced respiratory and critical care therapies, including high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, ECMO support, body cooling, and conventional ventilation
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, anesthesia, laboratory staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Maintain safe patient assignments based on acuity, with typical nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3 or 1:4
  • Administer medications and treatments, assess changes in patient condition, and promptly escalate concerns
  • Support parents and families through education, communication, and compassionate bedside care
  • Float to other units within the ICU cluster as assigned while maintaining professional standards and patient safety
