Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) located in the area. This role involves the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for neonatal patients in an acute care setting. The RN is responsible for providing holistic, individualized care to neonates and their families, developing and implementing care plans that consider psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: CA RN Licensure, BLS (AHA), NRP, 2 years of experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Level III or Level IV experience preferred; experience with charge nursing and high-risk deliveries strongly preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, experience with patient ratio management, proficiency with the Epic charting system, and community hospital experience.
- Certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience required.
- Key Skills: Administration of blood and blood products, APGAR scoring, arterial line management, assistance with high-risk deliveries, neonatal sepsis management, ventilator management, use of specialized neonatal equipment such as bubble CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, nitric oxide, and ECMO, alongside patient/family teaching and care procedures.
- Unit Details: Neonatal population, patient census of approximately 8 neonates daily, with a total of 12 beds in the NICU.
- Additional Information: Floating as needed; volunteers or call coverage available; orientation of 36 hours; documentation and compliance with all onboarding and verification protocols required prior to start.
