  • Float Potential: May occasionally float within the neonatal service line as needed

Job Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure eligibility
  • Minimum 2.5-3 years of NICU nursing experience required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • NRP certification required
  • Experience with cooling therapy, ventilators, JET ventilators, and oscillators required
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to care for unstable neonatal patients
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-acuity, interdisciplinary care environment
  • At least one year of RN experience required

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level III NICU
  • Perform ongoing assessments, monitor patient status, and respond quickly to changes in condition
  • Manage complex neonatal care needs, including ventilatory support and cooling protocols
  • Administer medications and therapies according to scope of practice and clinical standards
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans
  • Support families through education, updates, and emotionally sensitive communication
  • Document care accurately and maintain compliance with unit policies and best practices
  • Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and high-quality outcomes for every newborn cared for
