  • Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Shifts Per Week: 3 x 12-hour shifts
  • Hours Per Week: 36
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
  • Location: Midlothian, Virginia 23114

Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact eligibility
  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
  • Recent NICU, neonatal, pediatric, medical-surgical, OB, ED, or critical care experience preferred
  • BLS required or obtained prior to direct patient care per unit guidelines
  • PALS preferred at hire and may be required within 6 months based on department needs
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to work nights, every other weekend, and selected holidays
  • Experience with Epic EHR preferred
  • Comfort working in a high-acuity neonatal intensive care environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to neonates in a Level III NICU
  • Perform ongoing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses
  • Support neonatal resuscitation and stabilization as needed
  • Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards
  • Monitor and care for infants requiring bubble CPAP, ventilatory support, umbilical lines, IV therapy, arterial sticks, and blood draws
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary neonatal care team
  • Educate and support families throughout the care process
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and compassionate care environment
  • Float within comparable neonatal areas as needed
  • Document accurately using the facility’s electronic health record system
