Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level III NICU RN with at least 3 years of NICU experience and a DC RN license to provide critical care to neonates.

Details

• Level III NICU setting caring for neonates from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months old
• Patients admitted primarily from labor and delivery, including high-risk deliveries and C-sections
• Treats conditions including extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome
• Provides services such as noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, high frequency oscillation, and nitric oxide inhalation therapy
• Assists with bedside procedures including peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, and parenteral therapy
• 3x12 hour AM/PM rotating shifts
• On-call required

Requirements

• Active RN license in DC required, no pending licenses accepted
• Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
• Must be proficient with vents, oscillators, pressors, and micro preemie care
• Two manager or supervisor references required, verifying most recent experience within the past 12 months with at least one from the most recent employer
• US SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responds to neonatal emergencies providing assessment and immediate care to newborns post-delivery
• Attends all C-sections and high-risk deliveries
• Performs bedside procedures including blood and blood product administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring
• Provides parent teaching as part of patient care
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility
• RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration
