HealthTrust Workforce Solutions HCA is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Salem, Virginia.
General Information
Unit Specifics:
· Number of Beds: 6 (5 open bays, 1 isolation room)
· Patient Ratios: 1:2-3
· Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): RN and RT
· Type of equipment: GE 650 monitors, Medela breast pumps, Syringe pumps, IV pumps, bili-lights
· Documentation system: Meditech, Centricity Perinatal
· Scheduling requirements: 3 12-hours shifts per week
· Floating policy: Birth Response/ Stork Nurse
· Patient Experience requirements: AIDET, courtesy and respect
Hospital Specifics-
· Certifications: BLS, NRP
Hiring profile
Requested Skill Set: breastfeeding support, strong communication skills
Must have: IV insertion in preterm or term infants, Able to work independently with good assessment skills and knowledge of symptoms of declining health in preterm infants
Advanced skills needed: Ability to care for and stabilize critically ill infants needing vent support, CPAP, UVC placement, surfactant administration, needle decompression, administer TPN, lipids
Procedures performed on unit: Newborn resuscitation, intubation, umbilical line placement, surfactant administration, needle decompression, chest tube insertion, NG/OG feedings,
Certifications Required: RN licensure, BLS, NRP
