Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center with a 247-bed capacity. The role involves providing critical care to neonatal patients with complex medical needs in a fast-paced environment, supporting various diagnoses such as respiratory distress, congenital heart defects, and neurological conditions. The nurse will work night shifts to deliver high-quality care in a collaborative team setting.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, every 6 weeks based on unit needs after team schedule is completed and approved.
  • Required Qualifications: RN licensure, Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Valid state RN license, at least 2 years of strong Level 3 and/or Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience, must be comfortable in a high acuity, fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system, familiarity with EVDs, Camino ICP and temperature monitoring device, management of critical care vasoactive drips, invasive lines, bedside procedures, CRRT, and ECMO support.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and general Pediatric units as needed, unless prior experience in these populations is demonstrated.
  • Additional Information: The role includes working a weekend rotation involving 2 Fridays and 2 Mondays, plus every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) every 6 weeks. Holiday work is scheduled as needed, including holiday eves, days, and after-holiday shifts. Scrub color is navy; uniforms should be solid navy or white with pediatric-friendly scrub tops. Practice guidelines emphasize "Bare Below Elbow" policy in nurseries, no artificial nails, and no jewelry. The unit fosters a culture of teamwork, trust, accountability, and respect.
