• Orientation: 60 hours
• Floating: Required to PICU, NICU, Pediatric Emergency Department, Acute Pediatrics, and occasionally L&D and Mother/Baby

Job Requirements

• 2 years of PICU experience required
• Prior NICU experience or float pool experience in NICU/PICU strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients across NICU, PICU, Acute Pediatrics, and Pediatric ED settings
• Current RN license required; pending Virginia RN license may be considered if active by the required start timeline
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS
• Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate required; candidates may submit with the certificate pending if necessary
• Travel nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work nights, float as needed, and follow unit policies and clinical standards

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents in high-acuity settings
• Deliver specialized NICU nursing care including monitoring respiratory status, hemodynamics, and thermoregulation
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation as needed
• Care for patients requiring advanced therapies, monitoring, and support within a fast-paced pediatric and neonatal environment
• Adapt quickly to changing patient assignments across multiple pediatric units while maintaining high-quality patient care
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, child life, therapy services, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold unit standards, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols
• Support families through compassionate communication and relationship-based care
