Job Summary
A Medical Surgical Neurology Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in a Level II Trauma center hospital. This role involves providing specialized care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological conditions, including cerebrovascular accidents, neuro surgeries, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injury, within a fast-paced acute care environment.
Job Details
- Position / Specialty: Medical Surgical Neurology Floor / MS NEURO
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, with a schedule of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license; minimum of 2 years' experience in Medical Surgical Neurology; BLS and NIHSS certifications; experience with telemetry remote monitoring and rapid response teams; skills in colostomy care, feeding tube management, IV therapy including accessing ports, blood product administration, and management of surgical drains; proficiency in using Cerner charting system.
- Schedule: Shifts are days, 12 hours, with at least 48 hours per week scheduled; start date is 11/02/2026, and end date is 02/01/2027.
- Additional Information: Candidate must have experience with neuro-specific procedures, including CVA care, neuro surgery, and traumatic brain injury management; must be willing to float within scope as needed; RTO restrictions include no more than 5 days; orientation consists of 24 hours of virtual, at-home modules to be completed by 4:00 PM CST on Day 1.
