Job Summary:
IMCU Neuro Telemetry/Progressive Care Nurse in the healthcare setting. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to patients with neurological and neurovascular conditions, including stroke, TIA, seizure, and TBI, within a busy acute care unit. The role requires the ability to interpret telemetry strips and manage patients with complex neurological needs.

Job Details:

  • Position Description: Unit Telemetry - 4 West beds, 22 beds. The unit focuses on stroke, TIA, seizure, TBI, and mixed medical telemetry patients. Nurses must have 2-3 years of experience in the specialty; open to first-time travelers. The unit uses GE Apex Telemetry monitors, and nurses are expected to read and interpret telemetry strips accurately.
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and COVID Vaccine Certification are required.
  • Education/Experience: RN license required; minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Self-scheduling by seniority, with shift trades available.
  • Additional responsibilities: Float to IMCU (2 West) or Med/Surg Departments, bedside shift report emphasis, and focus on patient experience, HCAHPS, and stroke measures.
  • Charting System: Cerner.
  • Other notes: The unit is busy, typically fully staffed at 22 patients. Orientation includes one shift on the unit.
