Description:
36 or 48-hour workweek options available.
Travelers are prioritized for floating to meet staffing needs.
RNs must be prepared to float frequently.
The unit cares for medical surgical patients specializing in neurology and neurosurgery.
Patient population includes those with strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain tumors, and other neurological conditions.
Medical Surgical/Telemetry ratios are 1:5 days and 1:6 nights.
Night ratios can be 1:7 but this is rare.
Stepdown ratios range from 1:3 to 1:4 for both days and nights.
Two years of prior experience is required.
Drips are required on all floors.
Candidates must have recent level 1 trauma experience.
Charting is done using EPIC, and experience in this system within the last 2 years is necessary.
Candidates should be aware that they may float to other units as needed.
Weekend shifts consist of four weekend shifts out of eight possible during a four-week period.
Weekend coverage typically includes Saturday and Sunday for day shifts and Friday and Saturday for night shifts.
Requests for time off are permitted, but must be submitted with application.
Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
Candidates must comply with a 100% nicotine-free policy.
Additional requests for time off after confirmation are at the manager's discretion.
