2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital.
EPIC charting experience.
Ability to care for up to five Med Surg patients.
Description:
This is an opportunity for registered nurses in the stepdown neuro specialty.
Candidates should be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs.
The unit cares for a diverse patient population, including strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, and brain tumors.
Staffing ratios for Med Surg/Telemetry are typically 1:5 days and 1:6 nights.
Stepdown ratios range from 1:3 to 1:4.
Nurses will be responsible for managing drips, as required on all floors.
Travelers must float within their scope to meet facility needs and may be assigned to various related units.
All travelers are expected to work some weekends, with a requirement of four weekend shifts in an eight-week period.
Two weeks of RTO are permitted, and must be included with the application.
Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
A nicotine-free policy is in place.
Essential skills include managing cardiac telemetry, IV protocols, and respiratory care.
This role requires recent experience in a Level 1 trauma facility and proficiency with specific medical procedures and technologies.
