Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) with variable day/night availability (19:00–7:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Neuro ICU setting within a teaching hospital environment
- Monitor and assess critically ill neurological patients, responding promptly to changes in condition
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Adhere to unit-specific protocols, compliance requirements, and facility policies
- Complete required non-billable orientation modules prior to start and annually as required
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN License (must be in hand at time of submittal)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Local candidates are accepted and are subject to the same requirements as travel candidates
- All prior employment with any University of California medical facility or affiliated/acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names at time of submittal for rehire eligibility review
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required at time of submittal
- All RTO must be disclosed at time of submittal; no additional RTO requests will be accepted mid-contract, and RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Prior Neuro ICU experience
- Prior Trauma ICU experience
