Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering competent and compassionate nursing care across a range of simple to complex health conditions
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes as necessary
- Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
- Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions; makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
- Delegates tasks to support staff and assists physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program
- Experience in a neurology or neuro ICU setting
- Proficiency in organizing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating nursing services
