Contract | 12-Hour Day/Night Rotating Shift | Every Other Weekend Required | 72 Guaranteed Hours Biweekly
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Neuro Intermediate Care Unit setting, with the potential to float to the Neuro ICU floor
- Manage and monitor patients with arterial lines, external ventricular drains (EVDs), and lumbar drains
- Care for post-operative day-zero neuroscience cases, acute thrombectomy patients, and patients receiving TPA administration
- Administer and monitor vasoactive infusions as required by patient condition
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3 within an 18-bed intermediate care unit and 18-bed general neuroscience unit
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
- Minimum of 3 or more years of relevant clinical experience
- Hands-on experience with EVDs, lumbar drains, and arterial lines
- Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Basic proficiency navigating web-based applications; experience with Epic EMR preferred
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Neuro ICU or Neuro Intermediate Care setting
- Familiarity with acute neuroscience patient populations including thrombectomy and TPA cases
- Experience with vasoactive infusion management
