Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed CV Neuro ICU at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
Manage and titrate vasoactive drips including Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Phenylephrine, Dopamine, and Vasopressin
Independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips using Philips telemetry equipment (no monitor techs on unit)
Care for patients with complex neurological and critical care diagnoses including stroke, ICH, SAH, ARDS, septic shock, and acute organ failure
Operate and monitor RT equipment including mechanical ventilators, HFNC, BiPAP, and CPAP
Must successfully pass an ECG exam on Day 2 of assignment (pass/fail)
Required Qualifications
Active RN license valid in Virginia
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
Willingness to work 1 major and 1 minor holiday per year per unit requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a Neuro ICU or Cardiovascular ICU setting
Familiarity with titratable vasoactive and vasopressor drip management
Experience with mechanical ventilation and noninvasive respiratory support modalities
