Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuroscience ICU – Wisconsin

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: Evening/Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 1900-0730, with every other weekend rotation and some holidays. Flexible scheduling options available including 4x12 schedules or Friday-Sunday blocks.
Highlights:
- 18-bed Neuroscience ICU within a Magnet-designated, Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Patient ratio of 2:1 across all shifts providing optimal patient care
- Epic EMR system utilized throughout the facility
- Specialized patient population including stroke, traumatic brain injury, post-neurosurgery, and spinal cord injury
- Advanced critical care skills including ICP monitoring, EVD management, lumbar drains, and CereLink monitoring
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and specialized interpretation services
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Wisconsin or compact state licensure accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience within the last 3 years in specialty
- ICU experience required; neurosurgery experience strongly preferred
- Experience with ICU and IMC patient populations required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association only)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Basic arrhythmia interpretation experience required; must pass telemetry exam prior to start (80% passing score with specific criteria for lethal rhythms and heart blocks)
- Experience with ICP monitoring or ventricular drains required
- Proficiency in critical care skills including ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Willingness to float as needed within the facility
