Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years of ICU experience required; Neurosurgery experience preferred License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA ONLY) Must-Have: Epic experience required Telemetry test required prior to start Basic Arrhythmia experience Description: Seeking an experienced inpatient Registered Nurse to work in a Neuro ICU. This unit specializes in the care of critically ill adult patients with a variety of neuro diagnoses. Key diagnoses include stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, surgical resections, and trauma. The role requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to perform specialized interventions and procedures. Responsibilities include hemodynamic monitoring and hypothermia protocol. Work in an 18-bed critical care unit certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Join a team that values nurse-driven collaboration and partnership with other healthcare professionals. Candidates must possess experience with accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and care of ventilated patients. Additional required skills include central line care, management of dysrhythmias, and IV insulin protocols. Experience in ICP monitoring and care for patients post-craniotomy is essential. Commitment to infection prevention and knowledge of emergency medications is necessary. Candidates must be willing to float as needed and have two attempts to pass the telemetry exam before starting. Experience in working with neuro-intensive care patients is essential. Traveler must be able to work weekends and some holidays.
