Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse (RN) position involves providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in managing critically ill patients.

Unit Details

• Number of beds: 16
• Patient to Nurse Ratio: 1:2
• Holiday Requirement: 1 major holiday and 1 minor holiday per year
• Scrubs: Navy Blue
• Shift Expectations: 7 PM - 7 AM

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients with varying diagnoses, including but not limited to:
  • Stroke / Acute Ischemic Stroke
  • Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ICH)
  • Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH)
  • Subdural Hematoma (SDH)
  • Brain Tumors
  • Cerebral Edema / Increased Intracranial Pressure (ICP)
  • Hydrocephalus
  • Acute Respiratory Failure
  • Sepsis / Septic Shock
  • Pneumonia
  • ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome)
  • COPD Exacerbation
  • Asthma Exacerbation
  • Acute Heart Failure / Pulmonary Edema
  • Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)
  • Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
  • Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic State (HHS)
  • Gastrointestinal Bleeding
  • Acute Liver Failure
  • Severe Electrolyte Abnormalities
• Administer and titrate medications and drips including Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Phenylephrine, and Dopamine.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips as the unit does not have dedicated telemetry technicians.
• Collaborate with a team of clinical technicians to support patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a critical care or similar setting.
• Successful completion of ECG exam on the second day of employment is mandatory.

Equipment

• Utilize advanced respiratory therapy equipment including mechanical ventilators and high-flow nasal cannula.
• Experience with Non-Invasive Ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP) is essential.
