Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required. Contracts available from 13+ weeks through February 2027. Float coverage required as needed.
Highlights:
- Comprehensive Stroke Center specializing in ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, craniotomies, carotid procedures, aneurysm management, and neurosurgical care
- Patient ratios typically 2:1, may flex to 3:1 during high census periods; average daily census 11-12 patients
- Advanced neuro equipment including EVDs, lumbar drains, Camino ICP monitoring, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response, and specialized therapy services
- 24-hour orientation period with experienced unit staff
- No on-call requirement; structured scheduling to support work-life balance
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required – strong neuro critical care background essential
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
- North Carolina or Compact State RN license
- Proficiency with ventilators, IV starts, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line management, continuous IV sedation
- Strong experience with CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drains, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery care, and lumbar drains
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
