Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts; every other weekend required; float to other ICUs and intermediate units as needed

Highlights:

  • Work in a 26-bed Neuroscience and Surgical ICU within a comprehensive stroke center
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 2:1; occasionally 1:1 or 3:1 based on acuity
  • 13-week assignments accepted; contract runs through February 27, 2027
  • Utilize Epic EMR, Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication
  • 24-hour orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • Exposure to advanced neurological patient care including stroke, ICP monitoring, seizure management, and critical drip titration

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
  • Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
  • Proficiency in ICP monitoring, ventilator management, and telemetry
  • Experience with arterial lines, central lines, EVD management, lumbar drains, vasoactive drip titration, and Arctic Sun/Zoll temperature management
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
  • Annual flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • Completion of 8-10 hours of pre-start online modules (non-billable)
