Travelers may float to other like units, including surgical care, medical units, and inpatient rehab units. Team nursing model is utilized, encompassing the RN, LPN, and NA model within the general Neuroscience Spine unit. Primary nurse model consists of RN and NA in the Neuro Progressive Care Unit. The patient ratio is 6-7 patients per RN, with LPNs assigned to 5 patients and NAs assigned to 4 patients. In the Neuro Progressive Care Unit, the RN to patient ratio is 1:3. The unit provides care for various neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Notable patient diagnoses include traumatic brain injury, stroke care, spinal care, and post-operative care for neurosurgical procedures. Strong interdisciplinary support is available, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services. This is a fast-paced environment that emphasizes a strong team philosophy.
