Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment on a specialized Stroke and Neuro Unit located in Buffalo, New York. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care within an acute care hospital setting, focusing on patients with various neurological conditions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive nursing care of patients with conditions such as stroke, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and adherence to established protocols. This position involves working evening/night shifts, contributing to a collaborative and dynamic healthcare team committed to excellence in neurological care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to individuals with stroke and other neurological conditions, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for efficacy and adverse reactions.
- Monitor and interpret neurological vital signs and assessments, recognizing and responding to changes in patient status.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records using Epic EMR.
- Ensure a safe patient environment and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a Stroke, Neuro, or similar acute care setting.
- Proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
