Description:
Seeking an experienced registered nurse for a neuro telemetry unit.
The unit consists of 23 beds with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6.
Common diagnoses include a variety of neurological, medical, surgical, and cardiovascular conditions.
Patient conditions include cerebrovascular accidents, transient ischemic attacks, syncope, encephalopathy, and aspiration pneumonia.
RNs will work with patients experiencing cardiac diagnostic and intervention procedures.
A charge nurse is staffed on each shift, free of patient assignments when possible.
Certified nursing assistants and patient care technicians support the nursing staff.
RNs are not required to manage ventilators, only CPAP/BiPAP at night and nasal cannula.
Monitoring equipment is Phillips brand, with monitor techs reading and interpreting strips.
Self-scheduling is available, and the manager will work with RNs to accommodate scheduling needs.
There is a weekend requirement of every other weekend and every other holiday.
RNs will float to any unit in the hospital, except specific units.
Professional scrubs are required, and closed-toe shoes must be worn.
No artificial nails or nail alterations are permitted.
Unit-specific orientation will be provided.
Charting will be done using the EPIC system.
This position does not require a BSN.
Trauma Level is 1, and the setting is acute care.
