Description:
Unit has 20 beds with a ratio of 1:5-6 for floor patients.
Common diagnoses include neurosciences, deep brain stimulators, stroke, seizures, surgical/post-operative spines, and neurological disorders.
Charge Nurse available 24/7 for support.
There are nurse aids on this unit with a ratio of 1:7-10.
Respiratory therapy is available 24/7, and nurses are not required to have ventilator experience.
Telemetry is available on this unit, and nurses do not have to read strips.
Nurses document that they have verified monitor technician's strip reading in the electronic medical record system.
Shift requirements include working weekend nights either on Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday.
Travelers should be flexible with scheduling, including holiday rotations.
Floating may occur to nearby units as necessary.
Scrub colors consist of any combination of white and royal blue.
