Job Title: RN II - Tele Float Pool - MedSurg/CV/Neuro Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: RN II - Tele Float Pool - MedSurg/CV/Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: Able to titrate cardiac drips, pass a dysrhythmia exam, and pass a simulation lab Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Tele Float Pool. Nurses will float between all Telemetry and MedSurg units. Floating is required, with the possibility to float to ICU and other areas. Nurses may work in diverse settings, including the Cath Lab, ER, and observation floors. Notification of campus and unit will be provided 1.5 hours prior to shift start. Mid-shift floating to different units may occur. The distance between campuses is approximately nine miles. Nurses are expected to clock-out when leaving one campus and clock-in when arriving at another. Common diagnoses include patients post-cath lab, post-vascular procedures, and day 2 CABG patients. Candidates should have experience managing various cardiac drips. Weekend shifts are required, with specific holiday requirements. This role requires the ability to interpret EKGs. Charge nurses will have no patient assignments but will supervise other staff. Patient ratios and the availability of support staff, including techs, will vary by unit. Successful candidates must pass exams and a simulation lab within the first days of employment. General skills and patient care for both Telemetry and MedSurg units will be necessary. The facility requires flexibility due to the need for floating and varied patient care scenarios.
