There are 8 beds designated for a Neuro Progressive Care Unit. The unit utilizes a team nursing model that includes RNs, LPNs, and NAs. Patient ratios vary from 6-7 patients for the team RN, LPN, and NA. The NPCU follows a 1:3 patient ratio for RNs. Care covers a wide range of neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses including stroke care. Candidates must be flexible with shift rotations and available every other weekend. Rotating holidays will also be part of the schedule requirements. On-call requirements will be determined by the unit’s needs. The environment is fast-paced with a strong team-oriented philosophy. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various services. Special procedures and advanced monitoring capabilities are available within the unit. All candidates must comply with vaccination requirements and any required documentation. Other requirements include completing necessary lab work and fingerprinting as per state regulations.
