Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in an 18-bed Neuro ICU setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio (ratio may flex up or down based on acuity)
Monitor and assess neurological status of critically ill patients, implementing appropriate interventions
Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
Rotate every other weekend and every other holiday as part of the standard schedule
Float to the Neuro IMC unit as needed based on staffing and census demands
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Virginia
Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Proficiency with Epic EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
CCRN, SCRN, or CNRN certification preferred
Experience in a Neuro ICU or neurocritical care environment
Familiarity with neurological assessment and stroke protocols
