Description: Delivers nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses. Establishes nursing care objectives. Defines nursing interventions. Provides physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families/support persons to understand patient conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Notes changing conditions and needs and re-evaluates care objectives. Assures quality care by adhering to professional standards and policies. Maintains cooperative relationships among healthcare team members. Maintains a safe and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control protocols and medication administration procedures. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Monitors, records, and reports symptoms or changes in patients' conditions to healthcare team members. Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. Modifies patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions. Instructs individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and management. Provides patient care by reviewing provider orders. Communicates the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the healthcare team. Confers with providers to resolve patient issues. Promotes a culture of safety by maintaining awareness of patient safety needs. Acts as a patient advocate by voicing concerns and adhering to safety practices. Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories and examining patients. Documents patient physical condition and psychological status. Administers medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions. Recognizes adverse signs and symptoms and reacts appropriately in emergency situations. Assures compliance with accreditation standards and other specified duties as assigned. Attends assigned nursing courses as directed.
