Description:
This position requires a registered nurse with a focus on medical-surgical care.
The unit has 20 beds with a patient ratio of 6:1.
Tech support is available on both day and night shifts.
Unit secretarial support is available during the day.
Key equipment includes IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners.
The documentation system utilized is Meditech.
The schedule requires three 12-hour shifts per week and two weekend shifts within a four-week period.
In cases of floating, contract labor is the first to float, and rotation is followed if multiple staff members are on schedule.
Providing attentive and compassionate care to patients and their family members is essential.
Bedside shift report and the ability to foster personal connections with patients while including them and their family members in their care plan is expected.
The unit has received certifications in Comprehensive Stroke and is an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center and a Certified Chest Pain Center.
Candidates must have the ability to effectively prioritize care and demonstrate excellent multitasking skills.
Navy scrubs are the required uniform.
