Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Level 4 NICU environment, including pre- and post-operative care for neonatal patients
Manage and monitor complex equipment including oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, nasal cannula specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC/PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-tubes
Perform line changes involving multiple drips and provide specialized cardiac monitoring and care
Float within scope of practice to other units (PICU, CTICU, Med Surg) and satellite NICU campuses as needed, with mileage reimbursement provided from home base location
Utilize Epic for all clinical documentation and charting
Adhere to holiday work requirements, including working 2 of 3 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, including Eves)
Required Qualifications
Active California RN license (or confirmed ETA for licensure posting prior to start date)
Minimum 2 years of recent Level 4 NICU experience, or strong Level 3 NICU experience that includes surgical care performed on newborns
Current BLS certification
Advanced NRP certification
Proficiency with neonatal specialty equipment: oscillator, conventional ventilator, CPAP, specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC/PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-tubes
Must have personal transportation; local candidates (within 50 miles of facility) are not eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
PALS certification
Cardiac experience in a neonatal or pediatric setting
Experience at a children's hospital or in a dedicated pediatric care environment
First-time travelers with verified Level 4 NICU experience will be considered
