Manage and monitor complex equipment including oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, nasal cannula specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC/PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-tubes. Minimum 2 years of recent NICU Level 4 experience, or strong Level 3 NICU experience with significant surgical experience caring for newborns.
Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Level 4 NICU environment, including pre- and post-operative care for neonatal patients
Manage and monitor complex equipment including oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, nasal cannula specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC/PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-tubes
Perform line changes involving multiple drips and provide comprehensive hemodynamic monitoring
Float within scope of practice to other units (PICU, CTICU, Med Surg) and NICU satellite campuses as needed; mileage reimbursed from home base location
Utilize Epic EMR for accurate and timely clinical documentation
Work a flexible schedule including weekends and 2 of the following 3 holidays (including Eves): Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
Required Qualifications
Active California RN License (pending license accepted if ETA for posting is available prior to start date)
Minimum 2 years of recent NICU Level 4 experience, or strong Level 3 NICU experience with significant surgical experience caring for newborns
Current BLS certification
Advanced NRP certification
Cardiac experience required
Must have reliable personal transportation; local candidates (within 50 miles of facility) are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
PALS certification
Experience in a Magnet-recognized or teaching children's hospital setting
Comfort with floating to PICU, CTICU, and Med Surg units within scope of practice
