    Registered Nurse – NICU

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13 or 18 Week Assignment

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Level 4 NICU environment, including pre- and post-operative care for neonatal patients
    • Manage and monitor complex equipment including oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, nasal cannula specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC/PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-tubes
    • Perform line changes involving multiple drips and provide comprehensive hemodynamic monitoring
    • Float within scope of practice to other units (PICU, CTICU, Med Surg) and NICU satellite campuses as needed; mileage reimbursed from home base location
    • Utilize Epic EMR for accurate and timely clinical documentation
    • Work a flexible schedule including weekends and 2 of the following 3 holidays (including Eves): Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
    Required Qualifications
    • Active California RN License (pending license accepted if ETA for posting is available prior to start date)
    • Minimum 2 years of recent NICU Level 4 experience, or strong Level 3 NICU experience with significant surgical experience caring for newborns
    • Current BLS certification
    • Advanced NRP certification
    • Cardiac experience required
    • Must have reliable personal transportation; local candidates (within 50 miles of facility) are not accepted
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • PALS certification
    • Experience in a Magnet-recognized or teaching children's hospital setting
    • Comfort with floating to PICU, CTICU, and Med Surg units within scope of practice
