Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a 25-bed Level 2B Special Care Nursery encompassing Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, OR, ANU, and Recovery Room
Manage a rotating day shift schedule (7a–7p, 11a–11p, 7p–7a) including one night of on-call; evening and night shifts do not rotate
Maintain appropriate clinician-to-patient ratios: L&D 1:2–3 evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, magnesium drip, or epidural; Postpartum 1:3–4
Deliver Special Care Nursery and newborn care across all patient populations with an average daily census of 15–25 mothers, babies, and labor patients
Document all patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact eligibility
Minimum 3 years of NICU/Special Care Nursery experience in a single location, or a minimum of 2 years of experience as a travel nurse in NICU/Special Care Nursery
Demonstrated proficiency in Special Care Nursery and newborn care
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience with EPIC EMR charting system
Experience working in a combined L&D, Postpartum, and Special Care Nursery environment
