Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a Level 3b NICU with a 16-bed unit, caring for patients across all gestational ages including premature infants, sepsis, therapeutic cooling, and substance exposure/withdrawal
Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 or up to 1:3 for feeder/grower patients
Operate and monitor ventilatory support equipment including Aveya ventilators, bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, and oscillators, as well as administer a full range of drips
Float as needed to Labor & Delivery or Postpartum units to provide care for newborns
Collaborate with on-call neonatologists, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and 24/7 pharmacy teams to deliver comprehensive neonatal care
Attend deliveries as needed and participate in rotating holiday scheduling alongside permanent staff
Required Qualifications
Active RN license (compact or California state license)
Minimum 2–3 years of NICU experience at a Level 3 or higher facility
Current BLS certification
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Proficiency with Cerner EMR
Experience managing a full range of neonatal drips and advanced ventilatory support (Aveya, bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, oscillator)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior travel nursing experience
Experience attending deliveries in a NICU or L&D setting
Experience with therapeutic cooling protocols
Spanish language proficiency
