    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide nursing care across both the NICU and Newborn Nursery settings
    • Attend high-risk deliveries and manage all newborn diagnoses for NICU and Well-Baby
    • Conduct car seat testing as part of newborn discharge readiness protocols
    • Occasional floating to postpartum and pediatrics based on unit needs
    • Work every other weekend, with an expected 2–4 shifts per 4-week schedule
    • Be available to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's); holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Compact or Louisiana RN license required in hand at time of submittal
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in NICU specialty required
    • Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and CPI
    • AHA certifications required
    • Epic EMR experience required
    • NURSYS report must be submitted with profile and current within 4 weeks of submission date
    • Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as reflected on driver's license) to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted
    • Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors at this health system must have been separated for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
    • Two Manager or Supervisor references (PDF format) will be required prior to start; Charge RN references are not accepted
    • Any requested time off must be noted on your profile and discussed during the interview
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers will be considered
    • Familiarity with Well-Baby and Newborn Nursery workflows in addition to NICU
    • Comfort working in a dynamic unit environment with variable census (average daily census of 10)
