Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Option for 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) with no call, or 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) with a call requirement of at least one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly | Every other weekend coverage expected

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients ranging from 22 weeks gestation and above, including those with diagnoses such as abdominal wall defects, HIE, RDS, drug exposure/withdrawal, hypoglycemia, sepsis, TEF, Duodenal Atresia, Diaphragmatic Hernia, myelomeningocele, and ROP
  • Perform and assist with special procedures including full body cooling, chest tube management, tracheostomy management, Avastin administration, and laser eye surgery support
  • Operate specialized equipment including Arctic Sun, Jet Ventilator, HFOV, Draeger Ventilator, HFNC, Bubble CPAP, Atom and GE Dual Incubators, Draeger Caleos, radiant warmers, external shunt, and ostomy care
  • Document accurately and efficiently using EPIC EMR (minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required); utilize Pyxis/Omnicell unit systems
  • Float to other NICU units or facilities as needed based on census demands, performing only tasks within demonstrated and documented competencies
  • Complete all required pre-assignment modules and annual compliance requirements within designated timeframes
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina
  • BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience; NICU Level II and Level III experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience
  • No first-time travelers; prior travel nursing experience required
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from all system facilities to be eligible at full rate; candidates residing 90–99.9 miles may be considered at a reduced rate; candidates under 90 miles are not eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with advanced neonatal equipment including HFOV, Jet Ventilator, and full body cooling systems such as Arctic Sun
  • Familiarity with surgical NICU patient populations including post-operative anomaly repair care
  • Experience with Alaris, B Braun, and Infinity feeding pump systems
  • Strong adaptability and ability to float across units and campuses as needed
