    Registered Nurse – NICU / Special Care Nursery (SCN)

    Location

    Gilbert, AZ

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to neonates in a 12-bed Level II Special Care Nursery, managing an average census of 10 patients
    • Care for neonates 32 weeks gestational age and above, including patients on CPAP and High Flow, feeder/growers, rule-out/sepsis, and hyperbilirubinemia
    • Maintain patient ratios of typically 3:1, adjusting to 2:1 based on acuity
    • Start and maintain peripheral IVs independently; collaborate with the certified neonatal PICC team as needed
    • Attend high-risk deliveries as directed and coordinate with NNPs, Neonatologists, and Pediatricians available in-house 24/7
    • Participate in self-scheduling with weekend and holiday rotation requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience; Level II NICU experience required
    • Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
    • Current BLS certification
    • Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification
    • Must pass a Simulation Lab competency assessment (foley catheter insertion) on Day 1 of orientation
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Level III NICU experience strongly preferred
    • Experience with CPAP and High Flow respiratory support in neonatal populations
    • Familiarity with neonatal IV insertion and peripheral line management
