Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts (19:00-07:30) | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call Required
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care in a Level II Special Care Nursery for stable premature infants, typically 30+ weeks gestation
- Assist attending deliveries alongside a Neonatologist and perform newborn assessments in labor
- Administer and monitor phototherapy, Bubble CPAP, UV lines, and chest tubes
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:1-3 based on census, acuity, and staffing needs
- Float within skillset as required; ratios may vary based on unit needs
- Document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications- Active New Jersey RN license or valid Compact license required at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of NICU experience
- Must be fully vaccinated, including COVID booster
- Must pass unit-based competency, medication, and EKG testing with a score of 80% or higher (one attempt allowed)
- Locals are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience in a Level II NICU or Special Care Nursery setting
- Familiarity with neonatal respiratory support, thermoregulation, and developmental care
- Experience with family-centered care models in a neonatal environment
