Registered Nurse (RN) – Newborn Nursery

Durant, OK | Newborn Nursery (Level 1 / Stable Level 2)
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Floating required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to newborn nursery patients during the immediate neonatal phase, utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of patient care
- Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing continuing education
- Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff; provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel
- Care for stable Level 2 babies as required in addition to standard Level 1 nursery patients
- Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 1 year of Newborn Nursery or related experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Couplet care experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with stable Level 2 neonatal patients
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR
- Demonstrated ability to float within applicable units as needed
