    Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

    Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients including premature infants and neonates experiencing respiratory distress/failure, hypoglycemia, and related conditions
    • Administer and monitor vasopressors, sedation, and glucose as required within the unit
    • Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3 in a 42-bed NICU environment
    • Float to general pediatrics and PICU as needed
    • Participate in holiday coverage, with the expectation of working 1–2 winter holidays
    • Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate and timely documentation of patient care
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum 18 months of NICU / Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience required
    • First-time travelers must have a minimum of 24 months of NICU experience
    • Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission required
    • Active BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
    • Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
    • Experience and comfort utilizing vasopressors, sedation, and glucose administration required
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (verified by driver's license)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
    • Prior experience floating to general pediatrics or PICU settings
    • Familiarity with family-centered care models in a pediatric environment
