Key Responsibilities
Coordinate patient care delivery for neonatal patient populations using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Identify nursing diagnoses based on patient responses to health problems and develop individualized plans of care
Utilize knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to facilitate safe transitions through the healthcare encounter, minimizing preventable complications or delays
Perform and support clinical interventions including HIE management, surfactant administration, and PICC line placement and maintenance
Delegate interventions to healthcare personnel in accordance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and staff competencies
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of current Level III or Level IV NICU experience required
Sufficient experience with HIE, surfactant administration, and PICC lines required
Active Texas RN license or active Compact RN license with Texas privilege required
Active AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
Must provide proof of taxable address and 2 supervisory references from within the last year
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience working in a high-acuity public health system or academic medical environment
Familiarity with care models emphasizing health equity and community-focused patient care
