Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation with core staff
Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care to neonatal patients in a 26-30 bed Level 3 NICU, including preterm infants and patients with respiratory failure
• Manage and monitor patients on ventilators; collaborate with on-site Respiratory Therapy (available 24/7) and Hospitalist/Intensivist coverage
• Participate in bedside shift report and maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
• Charge Nurse responsibilities may include break relief coverage as needed; Charge generally does not carry a patient assignment
• Self-schedule within a 4-week rolling schedule; availability for extra shifts and shift trades with other staff is encouraged
• Float to other Sacramento-area facilities as needed; mid-shift float is rare but possible

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of California
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required

• Travelers are expected to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's); holiday time-off requests will be considered but are subject to manager approval

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in pediatrics or neonatal nursing strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience caring for preterm infants and patients with respiratory failure
• Comfort working in a "baby-friendly" designated hospital environment with a strong focus on breastfeeding support
