Job Title

Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts beginning at 6:45 AM | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation with core staff
Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to NICU Level 3 patients, including preterm infants and neonates experiencing respiratory failure
• Manage and monitor patients on ventilators in collaboration with 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support
• Participate in bedside shift report and self-scheduling within a manager-balanced, 4-week rolling schedule
• Rotate holiday coverage with core staff; expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
• Float to other Sacramento-area facilities as needed; mid-shift float to another facility is rare but possible
• Complete a 1-2 day floor-specific orientation with a preceptor upon unit arrival

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in California
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Experience with Cerner EMR

• Two supervisory references from the submitting modality required at time of submittal (at least one within the past 12 months and one within the past 3 years); charge nurse references accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Level 3 NICU setting strongly preferred
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Experience caring for patients with respiratory failure and preterm diagnoses
• Familiarity with ventilator management in a neonatal population
