TravelNurseSource is working with Revolution Healthcare Services to find a qualified NICU RN in New Brunswick, New Jersey, 08901!

Job Opportunity – Level III/IV NICU Registered Nurse – New Jersey

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday coverage required: Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs. Patient ratios: 1:2 NICU; 1:3-4 SCN. Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.

Highlights:

  • 37-bed Level IV NICU with Special Care Nursery at a 628-bed academic medical center
  • Advanced care including high-frequency ventilation, ECMO, therapeutic hypothermia, and complex surgical interventions
  • EPIC charting system required
  • Care for neonates 29-34 weeks and greater than 34 weeks gestation; will not attend high-risk deliveries
  • Floating required to Newborn, Peds, and PICU for appropriate assignments within skillset
  • First-time travelers and local candidates accepted at the same rate

Requirements:

  • Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of submission
  • Certifications: BLS and NRP required; PALS preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years of current Level III NICU experience (Level IV experience preferred)
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Proficiency in developmental care, patient/family teaching, phlebotomy, thermoregulation, phototherapy, and sepsis workup
  • Experience with lines and blood products: A-line management, central/implanted line care, IV starts/maintenance, UAC/UVC
  • Medication administration: Anti-seizure, antibiotics/antivirals, IV vasopressors, neonatal dose calculations, steroids, surfactants, insulin
  • GI/Nutrition skills: Breastfeeding support, NEC management, oral/NG/NJ tube placement, various feeding methods
  • Respiratory competencies: Bubble CPAP, HFNC, chest tubes, meconium aspiration, oxygen delivery systems, ETT/NT suctioning, Vapotherm, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP)
  • Preferred: Charge experience, jet vents, oscillators, ECMO, CritiCool body cooling, and experience with neonates received via transport
  • Former employees must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
