Key Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for a designated group of neonatal patients and deliver care utilizing the nursing process, current trends, and available resources
• Perform complete initial assessments upon patient admission and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
• Implement, monitor, and modify plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures on a continuous basis
• Monitor intake and output for neonatal patient assignments and administer medications using proper bar code scanning
• Assist mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care practices
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation and report on patient assignments during multidisciplinary rounds

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher
• Active Illinois RN License in good standing
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• NRP certification through the American Heart Association

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience in a NICU or neonatal care setting
