Schedule: Float required to different units as needed; patient ratio 2-3:1
Highlights:
- Level III NICU caring for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above
- Manage complex cases including respiratory distress, glucose management, and patients requiring surgical or cardiac interventions
- Daily census of approximately 30 patients in a well-equipped, specialized neonatal unit
- EPIC charting system and Pyxis medication administration
- Collaborative multidisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
- Comprehensive support for equipment, supplies, and patient care policies
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio state license)
- Minimum 1 year of NICU Level III or Level IV experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Proficiency in arterial line management, central line care, and UAC/UVC management
- Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Competency in administering IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
- Experience caring for extremely premature neonates (less than 24-28 weeks gestation)
- Knowledge of neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required (one must be from manager/director or formal leadership)
