Schedule: Float required to different units as needed; patient ratio 2-3:1

Highlights:

  • Level III NICU caring for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above
  • Manage complex cases including respiratory distress, glucose management, and patients requiring surgical or cardiac interventions
  • Daily census of approximately 30 patients in a well-equipped, specialized neonatal unit
  • EPIC charting system and Pyxis medication administration
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
  • Comprehensive support for equipment, supplies, and patient care policies

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio state license)
  • Minimum 1 year of NICU Level III or Level IV experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Proficiency in arterial line management, central line care, and UAC/UVC management
  • Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
  • Competency in administering IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
  • Experience caring for extremely premature neonates (less than 24-28 weeks gestation)
  • Knowledge of neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Two professional references required (one must be from manager/director or formal leadership)
